The F2S consists of a F2 body with a DP-2 head. The DP-2 with center weighted TTL metering was Nikon’s first exposure meter using LED light emitting diodes. Two arrow shaped lights in the viewfinder indicating over-/underexposure (why arrows? turn the aperture ring of the lens in the direction of the arrow…), both arrows lit show correct exposure. With the additional two diodes on top of the head the photographer is able to control the exposure without looking through the viewfinder.
The DP-2 was manufactured from 1973 until 1977. And for me personal… it’s the most beautiful F2 one.
I purchased the pictured camera from a private owner in Chiba/Japan in March 2014.
According to the serial number it was built in March 1976.
Shown with a matching 50mm/1.4 K-type lens.
