Well, what to say? Simply a legend: Nikon’s first electronically controlled pro camera with aperture-priority AE autoexposure (heavily discussed in 1980…), 100% viewfinder with LCD display, TTL flash metering, plenty of finders and screens, outstanding workmanship. Just to name a few. I remember myself stunning in front of the camera store window by the time the first one arrived in our town. The F3 comes with the standard DE-2 finder.
The F3 was manufactured from March 1980 until 2001 – Nikon’s longest production camera ever.

(F3 Brochure)
I purchased the pictured camera at the camera exchange in Vevey, Switzerland, in May 2014; dirty and dusty with a missing motor drive cover (it doesn’t work without it) it was sold for a few bucks – but after a careful cleaning session it looks almost like new…
Shown with a matching 55mm/2.8 AIS macro lens, a 200mm/4 AIS and the SB-17 flash (note that Nikon still does not support the standard ISO type accessory shoe on the F3! You want one? Buy the costly F3P…) .
