The successor of the FE was introduced in March 1983. Compared to the FE, the FE2 has got the following improvements/changes:

• The titan bladed shutter from the FM2 with shutter speeds 8 sec to 1/4000 and a mechanical 1/250.

• Flash sync at 1/250 with TTL flash metering

• Meter stays on for 20 seconds only, prevents battery drain

• No battery check anymore

• Viewfinder indicates exposure compesation

• AI/AIS lenses only, pre-AI lenses could damage the camera

The FE2 was manufactured from March 1983 to 1987.

I purchased the pictured camera from a private owner in Basel / Switzerland, in July 2014.
